Artificial intelligence Chatbot extends the KauppakamariTieto service

Timehouse implemented an AI-based KauppakamariAI Chatbot that expands the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce’s KauppakamariTieto and Ammattikirjasto services.

The Helsinki Chamber of Commerce (Helsingin seudun kauppakamari) expanded its KauppakamariTieto service with an AI-based Chatbot. The Chatbot compiles concise and relevant answers to users’ questions from the extensive KauppakamariTieto material.

How was Timehouse selected as a partner?

Timehouse has long collaborated with the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce and has demonstrated strong expertise in AI-based solutions. In addition, the Chamber’s KauppakamariTieto and Ammattikirjasto services and their editorial software has been developed in cooperation with Timehouse. As a result, Timehouse was also selected to manage the KauppakamariAI project.

Solution

The logic behind the Chatbot’s functionality is simple. The user asks a question, which the AI interprets and evaluates to generate a response. After interpreting the query, the AI retrieves relevant source material from KauppakamariTieto and the Amattikirjasto. Based on the search results, it compiles a concise answer in sync with user access. The reliability and accuracy of the responses depend on the breadth and structure of the source material.

In the project, Timehouse adapted the TimeAI RAG interface, which enables the successful utilisation of source material, to fit the Chamber of Commerce’s needs. In addition, answers can be configured to match user needs. In this specific use case, where the Chatbot relies on professional literature and expertise, the responses are generated solely from the provided source material, and the language model does not produce content independently.

Timehouse also implemented AI functionality for the Chamber of Commerce that indexes new and updated KauppakamariTieto and Ammattikirjasto content in real-time so that it can immediately be used for answer generation. The indexed content can also be searched through using conceptual queries: the Chatbot recognises conceptual connections and expressions related to the search terms.
