What is OptiLoss?

Waste optimisation is a software solution that reduces log material waste during in the design phase. With our algorithm, the cutting of log blanks is optimised to minimise leftover material waste.

Reducing waste in log construction

Optimised waste reduction leveraging log profiles in the design phase. The algorithm calculates how to best saw logs from raw timber and tells the designer the most efficient way to cut logs.​

Working together with Kontio

Waste optimisation is being developed in collaboration with Kontio, which is piloting the product.

This collaboration enables the solution to be developed directly for real production and design needs. The algorithm is tested in practical projects, taking into account material usage, production constraints, and installation order.

The solution will be available for sale in 2027.

BIM integrations from Archicad to Revit

Integrate your BIM tools with the rest of your organisation’s software ecosystem. Improve information flow and transparency to accelerate modelling, production, and strategic decision-making. Through integrations, BIM data can be directly connected to customer and product information or to the production line.

Customer data and orders can be imported from the ERP system into the design process, ensuring that the building information model matches the final deliverable. Building components and materials are generated based on the model and transferred to production without separate manual definitions.

BIM data flows across the organisation in a consistent and up-to-date manner.

Specialist BIM team

In addition to our waste optimisation solution, we offer Archicad development services. We work with Archicad add-ons and other CAD and BIM-adjacent technology across the entire modelling lifecycle.

For example, we have developed a license management solution for the Archicad add-on ArchiFrame. The solution tracks user data in real time and enables secure management of licenses and users. It operates on Microsoft Azure.

Timehouse customises Archicad for Kontio Log Homes

Kontiotuote, the world’s largest log house manufacturer, wanted to automate the transfer of BIM data from design to production. We developed an ArchiLogs- and ArchiFrame-based system for them that:
